Thoothukudi, October 05, 2016: Sterlite Copper, Thoothukudi won National Award for Excellence in Water Management 2016 as ‘Noteworthy Water Efficient Unit’ in ‘Within the Fence’ Category at National Competition for Excellence in Water Management 2016 organized by CII. This reward is recognition of the efforts Sterlite Copper took up to be a Zero liquid discharge plant in not letting its effluents out of the company’s premises.
Mr R Deepanraj, Mr Sreenath Sundaram presented the case studies on behalf of M/s Sterlite Copper. As part of the assessment, CII has conducted audit in the the plant after the evaluation of questionnaire.
The award was by presented by Dr Kakodhar, Chairman, CII Triveni Water Institute and Mr Dhruv Sawhney, Past President, CII.
